Haveli Gokul Niwas is a traditional house of Rajputs of Jhala clan, which offers a showcase of rural life of traditional state of Rajasthan. An ideal place to explore southern part of Rajasthan to experience rural, tribal and wildlife.
Haveli Gokul Niwas, located at Talawada Village of Chittorgarh district in Southern Rajasthan, On national highway no. 08 between twin historical cities of Udaipur and Chittorgarh, with little diversion of 20 kms from midway Mangalwar town towards south.
The Jagir of Talawada village under the kingdom of Mewar, granted to Thakur Aman Singh ji, descendent of Jhala Man, who sacrificed his life for Maharana Pratap in the great battle of Haldi Ghati, some 400 years back.
Talawada, a small village with population of around 2000 people, other than Rajputs of Jhala clan it has got good community of Brahmins, Vaishyas and Shudras. Basically, farming is the main occupation of the people. Opium cultivation is the main crop of the farmers in this region.
Haveli Gokul Niwas, named after Thakur Gokul Singh ji of Talawada (1870-1930), build in local gray sandstone of the region. This beautiful blend of Rajasthani and Mewari architecture reflects the true heritage of Rajasthan.
